| Much has been written on Sole already, especially after his beef with
El-P. But since this site is on Anticon, and since he's pretty much the head honcho, well
I guess I'll have to write a little something myself. Mr Sole is from Maine, where he
first hooked up with Moodswing 9 to form the Live poets and to drop a pretty good
12". To make a short story even shorter, he then went to San Francisco in order to
get some kind of exposure, to be able to do shows where a whole bunch of heads would
actually show up and appreciate the music. So, basically, he spends his time answering
people who say he's arrogant and self centered because they don't understand his music and
feel it's way easier to hate than to have an open mind on the one hand and trying to get
people to know his Anticon crew on the other hand. My last paragraph will be to say that Sole is never happy with his material, so avoid asking him what he thinks of such and such of his songs... |
